Does my insurance cover myofunctional therapy?
Most insurance plans do not cover myofunctional therapy. It is usually considered a private-pay service. Some clients choose to submit a superbill to their insurance provider, but reimbursement is not guaranteed and varies widely by plan.
Even when insurance does not contribute, many clients choose therapy because of the long-term benefits for breathing, sleep, orthodontic stability, and overall health. Myofunctional therapy is a noninvasive approach that supports the airway and oral function in ways other treatments may not address.
